Experimental and simulative investigation of a multistage <scp>2K</scp> injection molding process of <scp>PA6</scp> and <scp>EPDM</scp>

Abstract For investigations on a two‐stage multicomponent injection molding process adhesion‐modified polyamide 6 and EPDM with sulfur‐curing system are used. The influence of different temperatures is investigated the basis DoE test plan 15 factor level combinations. Within scope additional, more in‐depth investigations, special focus was given to preheating temperature thermoplastic insert. In addition experimental work, results from simulations used assess influencing factors. This approach allows precise description equilibration processes crosslinking reaction, especially near interface between two components. It shown that hard component (thermoplastic) in particular has significant time course reaction ultimately adhesion substrate.
